Mount Ephraim, Hernhill, Faversham, Kent ME13 9TX
There are 3.6 ha (9 acres) of gardens surrounding the late Victorian mansion at Mount Ephraim. The rock garden is Japanese in inspiration, but the owners acknowledge that this is because of the prevailing fashion for Japanese rock gardens in the late 19th century. No attempt has been made to plant it out in an authentic oriental style. Nevertheless, there is a series of pools with a miniature cascade. Typical Japanese plants include flowering cherries, dwarf rhododendrons, azaleas and maples.
Please note: Some parts of the garden are unsuitable for disabled access.
Opening times: 1 pm - 5 pm every Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday from Easter Sunday to end September (Bank holidays from 11 am)
